WhatDoTheyKnow FOI request by Ipswich Ltd
Dear Suffolk County Council,
On 28 November 2013, Ipswich Star reported ( http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/ipswich-long-awaited-road-signs-will-help-promote-town-s-heritage-1-3047711 ) Oldest English Town sign design application from Ipswich Borough Council to Suffolk County Council for permission with the signs anticipated to be installed mid-way through 2014.
On 18 January 2016, Ipswich Star reported ( http://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/news/visitors-to-be-greeted-by-new-signs-showcasing-key-ipswich-landmarks-including-christchurch-mansion-and-willis-building-1-4382897 ) an application had been made to the Department for Transport for permission to install these signs in Ipswich.
As of 2nd May 2017, neither have been installed.
Please provide the following:-
A) For the 2013 (“Oldest English Town”) signs, provide any correspondence, reports or minutes of the approval or disapproval of such sign designs.
B) For the 2013 (“Oldest English Town”) signs, provide a copy of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 64&65 authorisation application sent to the Department for Transport and any correspondence relating to it.
C) For the 2016 (“Waterfront Town”) signs, provide a copy of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 64&65 application authorisation sent to the Department for Transport and any correspondence relating to it.
D) Provide (where not exceeding the limits imposed by the FOI Act) details of Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Section 64&65 authorisation applications sent to the Department for Transport in relation to any road signs in the last 5 years.
