I was situated in a Chinese Buffet for a cheap eat at lunchtime as I haven’t been in many many years; and was shocked at the view from outside the window.

I always felt the traffic lights so close to the roundabouts was a silly idea – in particular the first one on Star Lane.

The traffic lights stopped traffic approximately every 30 seconds… which gridlocked the entire twin roundabouts on several occasions. Countless red light jumps.

I have used these lights numerous times last year and they never seemed to be so quick changing to red. On the face of it, there doesn’t need to be traffic lights that close to the roundabout or changing that quickly. The emphasis on Ipswich Waterfront hasn’t helped with east-west travel. I am sure the bridge is supposed to fix this when the road traffic is rerouted?
