Police scrambled to Ipswich Crown Court after defendant allegedly threatens staff with glass

A defendant appearing at Ipswich Crown Court today allegedly removed a piece of glass from the dock and made threats to staff.

Police were called to the building at 10.35am to reports that a man was acting aggressively towards security workers.

The court room was cleared and the defendant was taken back to a prison cell, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said.

How on earth did the defendant get the opportunity to obtain glass to use as a weapon? In a police cell they would take away your belt or shoe laces…
