Ipswich Waterfront-based University of Suffolk has entered the Complete University Guide for the first time. Placed at 129 it is nothing to write home about however due to the newness of the university, it can only really climb the table (or so we all hope!). Academics have said this is due to not being able to submit data for all the categories.

University of Suffolk joins Complete University Guide 2018 in last place, above Wrexham Glyndwr (2008), London Metropolitan (2002), Plymouth Marjon (2013) and Bolton (2005). University status/founding date in rounded brackets although some of these have its origins in the 19th century. Therefore the immediate universities preceding are relatively new too.

How does University of Suffolk shape up with University of East Anglia, University of Essex and Anglia Ruskin University?

For Complete University Guide 2018 (which isn't the primary trusted and relied on source for selecting universities) regional universities were like as follows:-

    Cambridge University
    Rank 1
    University of East Anglia (UEA)
    Rank 12
    University of Essex
    Rank 32
    Anglia Ruskin University
    Rank 118

The hierarchy order of the above table (i.e. regional university rankings, rather than nationwide ranking) is almost likely to be exactly what people would expect. University of Essex climbing 9 places has been attributed to their massive investment which a university like University of Suffolk has no chance in ever matching unfortunately.

University of Suffolk ranked 14th in the Times Higher Education annual Student Experience Survey.
