Is this a joke? A scam?

Is it really being called "The Winerack"?

I know the Regatta Quay Block A (?) is well known now as the Wine Rack... but surely when complete (IF) within a few years the name will be lost. People will be asking, "why is it called the winerack?!" Especially if Ipswich Waterfront ever became a tourist attraction!

well I think you will find they have committed to "The Winerack" as the name of the development now.. Makes about as much sense as calling TOwer Ramparts Shopping Centre, "sailmakers"!

Actually, forgetting common sense... when the build cost of £20m is all public finance and you aren't sticking your hands in your own pockets, maybe you don't care too much about branding... people need property and you don't really need to sell any. Keeping this nickname at least people know where it is.

Just think, if when it is all sorted the people living on the highest floor will get the best view of the other monstrosity,
Bens Bridge -- two cock-ups for the price of one.

Possible that Regatta Block A (Velsheda) aka Winerack was going to use dodgy cladding?

An application received this week to Substitution of an external cladding and replacing it with Keratwin K20 Ceramic Planks, colour terracotta as per submitted elevations. ("Due to contractors preference.")

No wrong-doing by anyone, seems the contractor prefers a different type of cladding, this could be a better product or cost cutting.... nice terracotta colour!
