Ipswich Borough Council owned bus company Ipswich Buses is refusing to run evening services to Ipswich's prime industrial estate Ransomes Europark that it is legally required to run. We couldn't find any information suggesting Ipswich Buses has changed the timetable, therefore it cannot downright refuse to run the routes as it is currently doing so.

    Here is the declaration...

Why the assumption that their customers are going to see this on twitter? There appears no facebook updates this year. It is a disgracefully poor attitude just because they are owned by the council thinking they can pick and choose the services they run. There is no such information on their news page or diversions page.

As more plots of land are acquired and developed, traffic is only going to get worse and public transport should be a viable alternative to the car... but if the bus services aren't running because it is rush hour, are these people expected to fork out for a taxi (who are likely to refuse to enter the estate for a similar reason)?

The industrial estate is designed for use by motor vehicles, there are inadequate pavements (many areas don't have them), around by The Havens are roadworks and don't forget it is very cold and slippery this time of year! Expecting people to walk up to 1.5 miles to a bus stop (yes you read that right, 1.5 miles) in the dark, cold, probably wet conditions walking past all the polluting diesel vehicles... is unacceptable.

(The 1.5 miles is a Google Maps estimate based upon walking from the furthest point of the Ransomes Europark estate, via the pavements along The Havens, Nacton Road and Ransomes Way up to the bus stop in Futura Park. Central Avenue is shorter but without pavements for much of it, not safe especially this time of year without hi viz)
