Early talks underway for 1,300 homes, primary school, GP and civic centre on land off Bell Lane, Kesgrave.
A patch of land in Kesgrave which is being eyed for development could be in for as many as 1,300 homes as well as a new school, GP surgery and civic centre.

I cannot see 1300 homes... maybe 1000... so that would be seen as a minor victory.

I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, as although I do feel Kesgrave got cheated on their promised bypass.... they don't have any employment zones, a town centre or a town hall. Twice the size of Woodbridge, they just leech on jobs in Ipswich and surrounding areas thus heavily reliant on our infrastructure ("our" being inclusive of them as the area is their home also).

None of which is applicable with building new homes, however, it just creates a bigger problem.

This land won't remain green fields and trees...

I do think they need to be a little more self-sufficient. They do have an array of businesses that employ people but if this land is to be developed it needs to be employment zoned. If they can do this then in theory they can reduce the need to use cars for journeys to work... being walking distance from much of Kesgrave and cycle distance for all of the town. So if they kept half of the greenspace (designate it a park!) you could have offices and the like there. I appreciate that doesn't help Ipswich.
