It seems an incident on the bridge has temporarily closed the Orwell Bridge westbound carriageway. This might not be classified as a "closure" but no traffic was getting through. Waze, Google Maps and Traffic England (Highways Agency) has reported either "slow" moving traffic or non-moving traffic.

Traffic England (Highways Agency)  Black means traffic not moving, red slowly moving, yellow slower than expected, green is good

This was in addition to congestion on the A14 sliproad to Copdock Interchange earlier.

The cameras somewhat conveniently not show the traffic queuing on the A14 carriageway.

Just a typical day in South East Ipswich including A14 Orwell Bridge and A1189 Nacton Road

Very unlikely to be reported on the news! Therefore it didn't happen.

I hope all is okay because they pulled one of their camera feeds... J57 A14

Police were called to the scene, close to the Shell garage, at around 4.15pm and are now in the process of moving it onto the hard shoulder.

Drivers are being warned they could face delays of up to seven minutes while recovery of the vehicle, thought to be a Mazda, from the carriageway.

According to the AA Traffic News website, motorists are experiencing delays of up to ten minutes and the average speed is 25mph.

The car broke down between junction 57, the Nacton Interchange and junction 56, Wherstead.

Traffic is expected to clear over the next 30 minutes but delays could run into rush hour, a police spokeswoman said.

The carriageway was empty at 16:36... if police were on the scene at 4.15 this is at least 21 minutes before things got moving again. The police spokesperson was right... it did cripple the town rush hour... even more than usual!

Between Nacton Interchange (J57) and Wherstead (J56)... sounds like the Orwell Bridge. After doing a petition for it, why are they avoiding to say it happened on the bridge? It was within the 60mph ASC zone anyhow.
